The Notepads Chronicle consists of hand-written notes, ideas, anecdotes, scribbles and thoughts in a number of notepads I've carried with me for years.  I then follow it with some notes (smaller red font) added to explain, clarify and support. And remember, enjoy yourself throughout your existence, be open to expand and enlighten always, and know you are worth your life lived to the fullest.

We are Beings first, Human Second. (written in 2006)

We are human beings, right? We are not just human. We know this yet we act as though we don't. Our all-encompassing common "identity" is best said combining two perfect words: Human and Being. So, which of these fine words are we first?

Seeing one another as beings first creates a connectivity expanding beyond our human reality and relationship.

In support of this claim, experiences such as intuition, insight, foresight, déja-vu, coincidence and happenstance become significant in our daily journeys in life.

The outcome? More possibilities and opportunities, acute awareness, positive outlook, scope and vision. Fear and ignorance transform into curiosity and love, since being who we are above what we are by human standards is the core essence of purpose.

Life is not but to appease human needs and wants, but to tend and nurture our being needs and wants.

Artists meeting places include bars.
No kidding, as history proves it over and over again. This is important to remember however, since we need one another to keep our art alive and shared.

Dans la vie, faut-ètre sur le chemin, pas dans le chemin.

Life needs us to be on the way, not in the way.

Music is NOT an "it".

You know, those splendidly thought through TV commercials for eBay, where all types of products are shaped of the word "it", including a huge "it" coming out of a car wash, a guy takes a photo with an "it"... , well, is music an "it"?  (If your answer is yes, perhaps you're misunderstanding music as only being songs.)

Music killers: Stop'n go, redundancy and monotony.

There is a need for distinguishing overall momentum in a complete performance, complete setting and full theme. Also, chord progressions can easily become monotonous if executed poorly without nuances or expansive flow... blah blah blah.

If you belittle me, then I don't fit with you.

You know, some people can try doing that to you. This may well be for you "the phrase that pays", since if they belittle you, you don't fit into their lives. (Unless you believe yourself to be that small.)

To exist is not to be.

Okay. Here's what I mean. To "be" is manifesting an open flow to receive and give from who you are being, (as a being, obviously). A being, simply said, is in constant revolution and evolution.

I believe both human beings and inanimate objects exist, such as a chair, a car, a table or a fishing rod. The difference is that the human being ceases to exist without another
human being, (note, of the opposite sex), whereas objects exist as they are, where they are what they are, with or without beings as witnesses.

From basic survival needs to extensive co-existence, human beings depend their lives on the interaction and communication with other human beings. But distinguishing the difference between our human existence and our presence in being is why "to be or not to be" is the question behind doing or dying.

To add, people who take on simply existing (as "only human", for example), will only find themselves treated like all other existing things we've all familiarized ourselves in association with, including categorically, statistically, comparatively, analytically, numerically, compromisingly misguided, misplaced, mistreated, forgotten, used, abused, as well as other extreems such as adored, cherished, squandered and recycled. (Are beings recyclable?)

Therefore my plee to thee is share this news with those we love, and yell from rooftops, websites and mail drops, that...

Who to Be Is to Be,
That We Live to Be
Free to Be!

(Do you get it?)

Don't fool yourself. You've only mastered how to play the game. Do you really believe this is what life is all about?
This goes out to those I met who "know better". Listen to your fathers (or grandfathers). Reasoning, explanations and excuses give you nothing else but reasoning, explanations and excuses. No offense but, this is your life's accomplishments in being who you are? I wonder

To Melodic musicians: No need to fear the beat.
With the music you express, you can dance with it, float with it, move around it, in and out of it, or simply soar. In other words, do what feels.

Music is understood by all human beings around the world. That
should be a wake-up call in & of itself.

If, with a melody, we can make a person cry, laugh, jump, sit, sleep, smile, dance, love, dream..., then we, music artists, can save the world. This can not be disputed, and the earth's tide is showing us so. It's in our hands to seduce the hearts of all, from fetus to suicide bombers.  (They need it most to snap out of it.)
